FAQS
Absolutely, you can bring it to us! We’d be happy to assist you. (To see a list of our available services, please click here.)
The idea that fur is only for special occasions is outdated. You can wear your fur anytime and anywhere, confident that you'll stay warm and look fabulous. You don’t even need to wait for winter—warm weather options are available all year round, including feather-light jackets, vests, crop jackets, shawls, capes, wraps, and fur-trimmed jeans, among others.
If you buy high-quality fur from a reputable furrier, it should last long enough to justify the investment. While the lifespan of fur can vary depending on the type, a well-maintained mink coat—when properly stored and cleaned annually—can last 20 years or more.
You can purchase whenever you're ready. Fur prices remain steady throughout the year, although market prices can fluctuate at any time.
Cleaning your fur removes everyday dust and pollutants, keeps the leather supple, and enhances the fur's shine and luster. This process helps preserve the natural oils in the fur, extending the garment's lifespan. For more details, please refer to our “services” section on fur cleaning.
Cold storage (around 34°F) protects your fur from summer heat and humidity. Heat can damage the leather by drying it out, while low humidity can also harm it, and high humidity can lead to “dry-rot.” Our storage facilities are controlled for temperature, humidity, and light, and are designed to safeguard against pests and other potential threats. For more information, please visit our “services” section on fur storage.
To extend the life of your fur, follow these simple guidelines:
- Store your fur in a well-ventilated closet away from heat sources.
- Minimize its exposure to both artificial and natural light.
- Avoid cedar closets and mothballs, as well as attics and basements, which tend to be too humid.
- Use a hanger with wide shoulders for support.
- Under no circumstances should you place your fur in a refrigerator or freezer.
Avoid storing your fur in any type of bag, whether cloth, paper, or plastic. Cloth and paper bags can cause crushing and wear, while plastic bags can inhibit air circulation and dry out the fur.
DO NOT STORE FUR GARMENTS IN BAGS OF ANY MATERIAL, INCLUDING BREATHABLE CLOTH OR PLASTIC. GARMENT BAGS SHOULD BE USED ONLY FOR TRAVELING.
